Announcements & Public Notices:

  • ATTIRE ALERT: Due to both sports teams being mentioned on the ballot, poll workers are prohibited from wearing Chiefs or Royals paraphernalia at the polling locations on Election Day.  You will be asked to remove or turn your shirt inside out if you are wearing any team gear. 
  • NOTICE: For voters voting in the Hickman Mill C-1 School District race, Clifford Ragan III has been disqualified as a candidate for Director, 3year term.  Even though his name will appears on the ballot, his votes will not be counted.    
  • BOARD MEETING: The next Board Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 12pm at the offices of Husch Blackwell. Certification of results from the April 2, 2024 School and Special Election will take place at the meeting.

  • ABSENTEE VOTING:  Absentee voting is now open for the April 2, 2024 School and Special Election at The KCEB Office, The Shops on Blue Pkwy. 4407 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. KCEB absentee voting hours are from Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-6:00 PM.

  • WE ARE AT A NEW LOCATION: The Kansas City Board of Elections has moved out of Union Station to a new location in the Shops on Blue Parkway. We are now operating out of 4407 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. KCMO 64130. Click here to view the full press release. 

  • VOTER ID LAW: Per HB1878, which is now in effect, Voter ID law has changed in Missouri. Missourians are now required to show a nonexpired photo ID issued by the state of Missouri, the United States, or the US Military to vote. Click here to view the full list of accepted IDs.

  • ELECTION SAFETY MEASURES: For the health and safety of all voters, election workers and staff, the Kansas City Election Board has taken the following safety measures.

  • Each Polling Place will have an 8 ft. barrier at each of the voter check-in tables. Election workers will be encouraged (but are not required) to wear masks for the duration of election day.

  • Hand sanitizer, alcohol wipes, Lysol wipes, Lysol spray, and anti-microbial spray will be used frequently to sanitize equipment and other hard surfaces.

  • Sterilized styli will be used for Poll Pad voter check-in and on Ballot Marking Devices. 

  • Single use pens and pencils will be used for voters voting on paper ballots. 

  • School gymnasiums, Community Centers and cafeterias will be used to ensure proper social distancing of voters and election workers. KCEB is working hard to keep Kansas City Safe.
